Offset printing is a printing technique in which inked image is transferred from a plate to a rubber cylinder, and then it is printed on the surface it has to be printed. The paper does not come in direct contact with metal plates. The rubber cylinder gives it a permit to print on wood, flexibility to print on cloth, metal, rough paper and leather.
Offset printing can also be called offset lithography. The matter to be printed is neither above the surface of the printing plate nor below it. It is flushed with a surface on the plate.
